Welcome! Dave and I are all settled in down here, and while we miss all our friends and family, we're having a great time. Note the pic of us in front of the giant Louisville Slugger. Some quick observations about the town we now call home:
- People don't use their turn signals. That's annoying, but they're also unlikely to run you off the road with rage.
- Southerners call us "honey" and "sweetie" with alarming frequency, never noting that we're not that sweet.
- The food here will kill you quickly, but it seems like a great way to die. Some examples of the things we've seen since we got here are: cheddar grits, mashed potatoes with gravy, biscuits and gravy, fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickle chips, black eyed peas, burgoo (a Southern specialty made of roadkill), and a one and a quarter pound burger.
